Flippant Films is the brain child of Nectarios Leonidas, who was born in Rhodes, Greece and went to the University of Connecticut to study Economics. He moved to New York City in the mid 90s to pursue filmmaking, where he attended the School of Visual Arts.
In 2002, he created Film Blitz, an organization where quality shorts films where showcased in different venues, before the video internet boom. Recently, FB teamed up with the Lation and Hip Hop film festivals to provide educational panels at their respected festivals. In 2004, he joined the board of advisers for the West Harlem Arts fund.
He is an award winning filmmaker, who shorts and specs have appeared in numerous film festivals throughout the world. Some of his past feature film credits include high-level profile independent films, like “Basquiat” In the last three years, he has focused more on editing independent films like “Blueprint,” which was nominated for an IFP Gotham award for best film in 2007 and “Salud,” which is currently making the festival circuit.
